Chapter 761 761: Abnormal And Miraculous
Chapter 761 761: Abnormal And Miraculous
From a conventional medical standpoint, Lulei's body had completely stopped functioning, and she no longer possessed any energy of her own. Her body was so devastated that anyone in the world would be absolutely certain that saving her was impossible, no matter what they tried. But unlike when Darian first discovered his powers, when he still had some limitations, now, as long as the person had even the faintest trace of life in their body, he could heal them.
Lulei's completely debilitated and dried-out body began to glow when the white power touched her. Her skin started gaining rosy tones, and her expression began to resemble that of a living person, not a corpse.
Darian didn't need to do much. After removing the permanent damage, her dense Bakunawa bloodline acted on its own. But…
"?"
He was confused, sensing that his white power hadn't only healed her body, it had also been absorbed by the Bakunawa bloodline, nourishing it. This made the bloodline grow stronger and denser.
Certainly, this was the influence of his Celestial Bloodline, which had made all his previous abilities even more impressive and abnormal.
Immediately, Lulei's body trembled, and her life force, which had been almost nonexistent, quickly radiated vitality, like a sprout being rejuvenated and watered by the breeze and rain of spring.
Darian removed his hands and simply watched as her body began to fill out again. He couldn't call those two outside too quickly, so he let the hours pass.
It was better not to draw unnecessary attention. He had forced them out so his healing power wouldn't be revealed, but in a few years, the Golden Crow Sect would reveal to the universe that it possessed the healing power of the extinct Healers of Heaven Sect.
Soon, it would become 'clear' that Darian used it here; but, like everything about him, his potential was abnormal and miraculous.
Two hours, four hours, six hours...
Waiting outside the door, Veyra constantly felt irritated, pacing back and forth like a caged beast. If Vymara hadn't held her back and persuaded her nonstop, she would have already rushed in, breaking the door down without caring about the instructions.
But as time passed and absolute silence remained inside, Veyra began to nurture a small and dangerous flame of hope... After all, Darian definitely didn't seem like someone who spoke without reason. Besides, it was a bitter truth that the result couldn't be worse than the imminent death that was already guaranteed.
Finally, after a long period of six hours, which felt like centuries, Darian's tired voice echoed through the door.
"Queen Veyra, you may come in now."
As if ignited by sudden urgency, Veyra forcefully pushed the door open and rushed inside. Vymara followed closely behind, her heart pounding.
Just like before, Lulei was lying calmly on the pile of crystals. Her posture remained the same.
The moment Veyra rushed in…
The Queen's eyes widened in shock. That was because a pair of eyes met hers… it was Lulei. Not only did her granddaughter's eyes no longer show the expression of a corpse refusing to die… they also seemed to shine with a clarity long lost.
Upon seeing Veyra, Lulei slightly moved her cracked lips and spoke with a hoarse but firm voice.
"Grandmother…"
Although her voice sounded weak, it was perfectly audible in the silence of the room. When Veyra heard Lulei call her, she froze, as if she had just been struck by two sudden thunderbolts. She felt a wave of dizziness, and her body tilted to the side, leaning heavily against the wall. If Vymara hadn't quickly supported her, the great Queen might have ended up kneeling on the floor without strength.
"Senior Lulei, you…" Vymara saw an unprecedented expression of life in Lulei's eyes. Although her face was still deathly pale, it no longer resembled the corpse-like aura from before; instead, she was radiating a noticeable vitality.
"Junior Vymara…" Lulei murmured, while a faint and trembling smile slowly appeared on her face. "I can finally… see you properly, without the pain clouding everything."
She spoke very slowly, but every word was a miracle to those present. Vymara opened and closed her lips repeatedly, but the words died in her throat, overwhelmed by the euphoria overflowing in her eyes.
"Yes… Yes!"
Veyra shouted, almost out of breath, as if she were in a mystical trance. She staggered forward and knelt in front of the bed.
As she approached, she felt with absolute clarity the aura of life within Lulei, which shocked her so much she could barely believe her own senses. She extended her trembling hand and pulled back the blanket covering her, cautiously placing her hand on her granddaughter's chest.
Darian jumped in shock, immediately turning his face away.
While probing Lulei's body, Veyra's face went through a thousand emotions before she completely lost control.
Not only was her granddaughter's body suddenly overflowing with a hundred times more vitality than before, but she could also distinctly feel the flow of an even more powerful bloodline.
"Grandmother, is all of this really real? I… I really didn't succumb, and now I'm dreaming of peace?" Lulei asked. There was a glow of hope on her face; it was the first time in a thousand years that Veyra had seen her give such a sincere and conscious smile.
Veyra's body trembled intensely. Without hesitation, she raised her hand and delivered a firm, violent slap to her own face.
*PAH!*
The slap was extremely loud, enough to echo through the whole area. The force was so great that the right side of her face instantly turned scarlet.
Feeling it clearly, she brought her hand to her face, and heavy tears immediately flowed from her eyes because of the pain and the relief.
"It's real… everything you're feeling right now… is the purest truth…" she murmured. Then, to everyone's surprise, the fearsome Queen of the Tide-Shadow kingdom began to cry uncontrollably like a lost child.
Because she was sobbing and extremely emotional, it took her a long time before she could even form a complete sentence.
"This is… simply a miracle," Vymara murmured, before looking at Darian with renewed respect and letting out a deep sigh. "Sir Darian, you are without a doubt the most extraordinary person I have ever had the honor of meeting."
Only now did Veyra finally remember Darian's presence. Immediately, she turned her head and saw the young man leaning against a corner, with an expression of 'deep exhaustion'.
'Clearly', he had spent a colossal amount of energy and concentration on the treatment. Veyra wiped the tears from her eyes with the back of her hands and said, her voice still choked, "Young Darian, you… she really…"
Darian spoke directly, cutting through the tension. "The worst has already passed. Lady Lulei regained stability, and her life is no longer in immediate danger. I only needed to remove the deepest damage… then her bloodline did the rest. I can't take full credit for it. Now, ordinary healing herbs will be enough to help her body slowly grow stronger. It's very likely that Lady Lulei will recover physically in two to three years."
"Ah…" Veyra opened her mouth wide, completely stunned.
The sharp pain in her face assured her that none of this was a hallucination. But news this wonderful was too big to process, making everything feel like a lucid dream. She opened her lips a few times before asking almost in a whisper:
"So… that means… one day she might… get married and have children of her own?"
Darian replied calmly, "Indeed, as I said, she will recover completely. Since she will be cured of all physical aftereffects and is still very young, naturally, she won't face any problems regarding those things."
"Ah… hehe… hahaha… hehe…" Veyra bent forward where she stood and started laughing somewhat crazily, a mixture of laughter and crying that filled the room.
"Master, Senior Lulei, this is wonderful!" Vymara felt deep joy, her eyes moist. She had witnessed up close the agony both of them endured for years.
"However…" Darian's voice sounded again, in a warning tone. "I would like to ask Queen Veyra to keep it in absolute secrecy that I was the one who helped with this. Otherwise, it may cause political complications and unnecessary envy."
Veyra nodded quickly, with a submission no one would ever expect from her. "Alright! Total secrecy, no one will hear it from me!"
At that moment, she was so grateful that she would agree to anything.
"Sir Darian, rest assured. I, Vymara, will guard this secret with my life," the young disciple declared with a firm nod.
Darian nodded, then added gently:
"I'm confident Lady Lulei's body will recover within three years, and she will be as healthy as any woman her age. But… It's not possible for her cultivation to recover immediately. Her meridians were atrophied because of the long time she spent sick. So they will recover at an extremely slow pace. According to my calculations, she will need at least a thousand years before she can even begin cultivating again."
The room fell into complete silence. Veyra stood there with her mouth open, but her expression wasn't disappointment; it was vibrant excitement.
"You… you're saying that… my granddaughter… will really be able to cultivate again!?"
"Yes, exactly." Darian nodded.
Veyra's chest rose and fell violently. She would completely believe Darian now, no matter how impossible it sounded. She let out a long, heavy sigh before turning to her granddaughter, whose face was also trembling.
"Lulei, did you hear that?! You're going to be fine! And you'll be able to be a warrior again, in just a thousand years… you heard it, didn't you?!"
Darian watched the scene with a discreet smile, realizing that a thousand years, for cultivators, was just the blink of an eye.
Lulei looked at Darian with infinite gratitude. "Sir Darian… you granted me life twice today. It's a debt I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay."
Darian shook his head. "No need to thank me. It was my master, Gildor, who injured you back then. What I did was just an attempt to compensate for the pain you and your grandmother suffered. I only ask that… you try not to hold resentment toward him."
However, Lulei shook her head with impressive serenity. "No, I never held resentment toward Sect Leader Gildor. Back then, I was young, impulsive, and arrogant. I approached the forbidden place out of curiosity… no, I actually thought I could deliver the final blow and gain part of the glory of killing the Sea Orc… what happened was the consequence of my own actions. I even tried to warn my mother not to seek revenge, but the pain blinded her… in the end, I am the one who should apologize to the Sect Leader, and to Palace Master Chrysos, for the trouble I caused."
Darian fell silent, satisfied with the noble spirit of that young woman. Indeed, all those thousand years of suffering had taught her more than ten lifetimes.
"Yes, yes. Lulei is absolutely right." Veyra nodded immediately, now completely docile. "Back then, my daughter lost her mind. She had been doing questionable things for a long time, and even though I had abandoned my position as queen, I felt it was very wrong, but I chose not to stop her. In the end, my daughter acted according to her nature… and received the repayment with her life. Now that my granddaughter has recovered, I don't care about the past; I would even bow before Gildor if necessary. Little Lulei, rest, don't waste your energy."
"No…" Lulei said softly, closing her eyes for a moment. "It's been so long… since I truly felt alive and free of pain… Let me… just feel the warmth of life a little longer…"
Her words made Veyra tremble again, lowering her head to hide her crying.
"Lady Vymara, let's leave them alone for now." Darian stood up, feeling that his work there had been successfully completed.
Vymara took a deep breath, looking at Darian. "Alright, let's go."
