Chapter 128: Reliquary of Heaven’s Fall!!
Chapter 128: Reliquary of Heaven’s Fall!!
"Reliquary of Heaven’s Fall!!"
The moment Raiden’s voice rang out, the world changed.
The hot pink and golden light surrounding Neva’s body exploded outward like a miniature sun, washing over the battlefield in a blinding wave. Every Terra Beast within sight flinched at the sudden radiance, while even the Black Dragon’s massive eyes narrowed as the light swallowed the sky.
Neva’s small body, now three meters tall, rose into the air as if an invisible force had lifted her. Her glowing eyes shone like twin stars, and the strange golden markings across her body began to spread, branching like ancient sacred veins across her sleek dark shell.
Then the air behind her cracked.
No—
Not one crack.
Hundreds.
KRRRRK!!
The empty space above the battlefield split open all at once as giant gates of light began to emerge one after another, filling the entire sky.
One.
Ten.
Fifty!
A Hundred!!
Two Hundred!!!
They kept appearing without end, layer after layer, row after row, stretching across the heavens until there was no empty space left above the heads of the Terra Beasts.
Each gate was different.
Some were round like ancient halos, others tall and rectangular like sealed temple doors. Some looked like giant arches from a forgotten palace, while others resembled circular portals carved from solid sunlight itself.
Every single one of them was covered in rustic, ancient runes that burned with golden fire, while faded pink divine patterns flowed across their edges like rivers of light.
The gates looked old, as if they did not belong to this age.
Krrrrk... Krrrrk... Krrrrk...
The Chains appeared on the gates
Heavy, rusted chains.
They wrapped around every gate from top to bottom, crossing over them in giant X-shapes, binding them shut as if trying to imprison whatever lay behind them. The chains looked ancient and rotten, covered in glowing runic letters that pulsed one by one, as though something inside was struggling to break free.
The sight alone froze the entire battlefield.
Even the wild Terra Beasts that had been roaring madly a moment ago fell silent, their instincts screaming at them that something incomprehensibly dangerous had just descended upon the world.
Down below, Raiden stared up with his mouth slightly open, his heart pounding wildly.
This was his second time Raiden had seen this skill, and it looked even more magnificent and powerful than it did when she was at a Bronze Tier. It didn’t look like an ordinary skill.
This looked like divine punishment.
"Sha Sha Sha!!~"
Floating in the middle of the sky, Neva slowly raised one of her front legs.
And all the runes on every gate lit up at once.
BOOOOMMMMM!!!
The sound that followed was like the heavens themselves groaning.
The chains tightened against the gate before they started snapping.
CLANG!!
The first chain broke.
CLANG!! CLANG!! CLANG!!
Then another. Then ten more. Then hundreds more all at once.
The sound of countless rusted chains snapping echoed through the battlefield like the ringing of divine bells, crisp and violent and oddly satisfying, each break making the pressure in the air rise higher and higher.
Some chains shattered into sparks of golden dust, while others recoiled wildly before vanishing into nothingness.
And then—
The gates opened.
And from the darkness inside them, weapons began to emerge.
First came swords.
Long swords, short swords, broad swords, curved swords, straight double-edged swords, executioner blades, giant claymores, elegant rapiers, cruel serrated sabres, massive greatswords, thin piercing estocs, thick war blades, and strange ancient swords whose shapes Raiden had never even seen before.
Then came the spears.
Long hunting spears, knightly lances, tridents, jagged war spears, barbed throwing spears, silver javelins, dragon-killing pikes, heavy battlefield pikes, twin-pronged spears, leaf-bladed spears, and crimson-tipped halting lances.
Then Halberds. Glaives. Poleaxes. Battle axes. War hammers. Morningstars. Maces. Scythes. Hooks. Chakrams. Twin crescent blades. Massive guandao. Double-headed axes. Spiral javelins. Spiked clubs. Three-section staffs. Heavy flails. Throwing blades. Cross-shaped spears. Hook swords. Winged spears. Moon-bladed glaives. Tooth-edged falchions. Jagged butcher axes. Golden bolt lances.
And countless more.
They emerged slowly at first, each one hanging halfway out of a gate and locked in place by the last few chains still clinging to them, trembling in the air as if alive.
The whole sky had become a hanging graveyard of divine weapons.
It was beautiful.
It was horrifying.
It was magnificent.
The light pouring from the gates painted the jungle gold and pink, while the metallic bodies of the weapons gleamed with cold murderous intent. Every blade, every spear-tip, every axe edge was pointed downward at the sea of Terra Beasts below.
Every single Terra Beast in the area felt death descend upon their heads as they looked at the weapons hanging from the sky.
The first one to break was a Gold-Tier wolf.
It turned around and tried to run, only to realise it was too late.
Neva lowered her leg.
"Sha!!"
All the final chains snapped at once.
And The Sky Fell!!
SHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIII!!!
Thousands of weapons shot down together like divine meteors, covering the heavens in a rain of light and steel. They descended too fast for the eye to even follow properly. One second, the sky was full of gates.
In the next, the world imploded!
BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!
Spears pierced through lines of charging Terra Beasts, pinning them to the ground in groups of three and four. Greatswords came crashing down like guillotines, splitting giant beasts clean in half.
Halberds tore through thick hides and shattered bone. Glaives spun as they fell, carving bloody arcs through the crowd. War hammers smashed craters into the earth, pulping everything beneath them.
Axes buried themselves into skulls, necks, shoulders, and torsos with horrifying precision.
Blood erupted everywhere.
The roars of wild Terra Beasts turned into screams as they all tried to run, their efforts proving futile.
The earth shook as wave after wave of weapons descended mercilessly from above.
No matter where the Terra Beasts ran, more gates opened above them. No matter where they hid, more weapons followed.
A giant rhino charged forward only to be nailed down by seven spears at once, its body twitching helplessly before a massive executioner blade dropped straight through its spine.
A flock of winged Terra Beasts tried to rise into the sky, but they flew straight into rows of descending javelins and spinning chakrams, turning into mangled chunks of flesh and feathers before they even made it ten meters up.
A massive burrowing worm erupted from underground to escape the killing field, only for three heavy glaives and a rotating drill lance to punch through its skull and pin its corpse half-out of the earth.
Everywhere Raiden looked, death bloomed. It was not a battle.
It was a massacre.
A path of annihilation was carved straight through the right flank of the encirclement, exactly where Raiden had wanted to escape. Terra Beasts fell in heaps as the rain of weapons forced everything in that direction into total collapse. Bodies piled up on top of each other while the surviving beasts screamed and scattered away from the opening like mad.
Even the Black Dragon had stopped moving.
He looked up at the tiny spider, who was orchestrating it all.
And behind Neva, still glowing like a tiny goddess of judgment, more and more ancient doors of light were forming, as she kept the attack going.
Woolie, on the other hand, was fighting for his life.
The moment the first wave started falling, he used the dragon’s distraction to launch himself forward again, slamming his body into the Black Dragon’s chest with all the force he could muster.
CRACK-BOOOOM!!!
"Woolie!!!" Look somewhere else, you overgrown lizard!! That’s my sister, and I will protect her!!
The dragon roared in anger and swung a claw that tore through the space Woolie had just occupied, barely missing as Woolie twisted away and rammed into one of its legs instead. Thunder exploded from Woolie’s body as he bit, kicked, rammed, and discharged lightning with everything he had, refusing to give the dragon even a moment to rush toward Raiden.
But the difference between them was still overwhelming.
The Black Dragon’s tail came around like a mountain.
BANG!!!
It smashed into Woolie’s side and sent the ten-meter sheep flying through the air, crashing through dozens of corpses and impaled beasts before tumbling across the broken ground. Before Woolie could even get back up, the dragon was already in front of him, jaws opening wide enough to swallow him whole.
"Woolie!!"
A spear the size of a tree trunk crashed down between them.
BOOOOM!!!
The Black Dragon was forced one step back as the giant spear buried itself into the earth, splitting the ground open.
Neva’s eight eyes burned brighter.
"Sha Sha!!" You are not touching my big brother!!
Dozens of gates shifted at once.
This time, they aimed at the dragon.
The Black Dragon’s pupils narrowed.
And for the very first time since he came here, he roared in genuine fury.
Raiden’s expression tightened. This was their only chance.
He turned toward the opening Neva had carved through the horde and shouted at the top of his lungs—
"Woolie!! Fall back!! Right side!! NOW!!"
Woolie, battered and smoking, looked up from the ground. One of his eyes twitched as he saw the path of corpses and shattered weapons leading away from the battlefield.
Then he looked at the dozens of gates now pointed directly at the Black Dragon.
Then at Neva.
Then at Raiden.
"Woolie Woo!!!"
Without waiting another second, Woolie kicked off the ground and rushed toward Raiden like a bolt of thunder, while behind him, the first of Neva’s dragon-targeted weapons began to fall.
The Black Dragon spread his wings and roared so loudly that the sky shook.
And the jungle behind Raiden exploded as the three of them made their desperate escape through the road of death Neva had personally carved for them.
The Dragon roared in anger, looking at the escaping prey before his very eyes.
He opened his jaws wide before letting out a Flame Blast dozens of meters wide, coloured in dark demonic flames that collided with them directly, exploding and melting the ground where it did.
BOOMM!!!!!!
When the smoke finally cleared, there was no one there.
"ROARRRR!!!" FIND THEM!!!! FIND THOSE INSECTS FOR MEE!!!!!
