Chapter 43 The Upgrading of Sexuality
Chapter 43 The Upgrading of Sexuality
"This is a gift I specially brought for you from the food festival."
As Miss Moran spoke, she pushed the gift box toward Lucius.
Before Lucius's hand could even touch the gift box, Miss Moran's voice rang out again, her tone tinged with suppressed anticipation:
"We can't open it yet, let's keep this hope alive...we should at least finish dinner first."
Lucius smiled. Judging from Miss Moran's expression, he guessed in less than a second what the gift was.
"It's probably dessert too," he thought.
I carefully placed the gift box on one side of the counter and casually tossed out tonight's menu:
"Miss Moran, I plan to make braised sea cucumber with scallions tonight."
Cut a whole scallion into sections, fry it in hot oil until the surface is golden brown and fragrant, then simmer it with the pre-soaked sea cucumber over low heat.
The caramelized sweetness of the scallions will slowly seep into the tender and juicy sea cucumber, and a touch of oyster sauce will be added at the end to enhance the flavor.
"That sounds very appealing." Miss Moran's gray eyes lit up briefly.
But then her expression turned into one of genuine and deep distress.
"If it appears tomorrow."
She had eaten too many desserts and could no longer fight against Lucius's braised sea cucumber with scallions.
Lucius had also thought of this, and he could only express his regret, while mentally moving the braised sea cucumber with scallions from tonight's menu to tomorrow night.
Since there was no rush to go back and cook, Lucius turned his attention to the bookshelf behind him.
Now that the man in black had revealed his identity, Lucius's tone became even more direct.
"Miss Moran, do you have any books suitable for serving the Apostles?"
Miss Moran became serious about professional matters.
She put the last piece of cake in her mouth with a fork, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and then stood up from behind the counter.
She exuded a focused aura unlike her usual focus when reading food news.
"If you are a Feast-Serving Apostle, then you have many more choices..."
She paused for a moment, then asked, "Do you know about the transformation of sexual form?"
Lucius nodded. Fortunately, he had finished reading the monograph on the history of sexual evolution in the secret library last Saturday.
Seeing that he understood this point, Miss Moran then introduced a more in-depth topic:
"Besides being able to change one's sexual nature, one's sexual nature can also be upgraded."
"An upgrade?" Lucius asked in confusion, something he had never encountered since he began studying occultism.
"Not bad." Miss Moran turned around and pointed to all the books on the bookshelf behind her.
"Secret teachings originate from occult knowledge, which generates desire."
But desire is like a boulder rolling down a mountain.
If you continuously feed it more esoteric knowledge from a secret text, pushing and accelerating it with the same principles, what will its desires become?
Lucius thought for a moment, then said uncertainly, "Like adding fuel to the fire, making the desire for secret transmission even more intense?"
"A very good analogy." Miss Moran agreed with Lucius's analogy, holding up one finger:
"This leads to the two choices that sequencers face during the secret transformation phase when they are promoted."
The first, and most common, method is to directly choose a new secret manual of a higher level.
The advantage of this approach is its stability, as there is prior experience to refer to at each step. The disadvantage is that it requires repeating the complete secret transformation steps from the first promotion, resulting in a longer adaptation period.
She extended her second finger:
"The second type is sexual enhancement, which uses sufficient occult knowledge as fuel to upgrade the level of the secret manual that has already been modified within you."
The direct benefit of doing this is that you will no longer need to go through the secret transformation stage when you are promoted.
However, the drawbacks are also obvious: you must delve deeper into the knowledge aspects of the original secret transmission that you have not yet fully mastered.
If you only scratch the surface, even if you read through all the occult knowledge in the bookstore, your esoteric level won't see any substantial breakthrough.
After listening, Lucius mentally compared Miss Moran's description with the notes in his own diary since his transmigration.
"I didn't expect that similar operations already existed in this world."
Lucius learned what kind of occult knowledge was suitable for serving the apostles.
"Do I need to study the occult knowledge of cup and lamp divination?"
"No," he considered the transformation of sexual characteristics, "there are also moth characteristics and heart characteristics."
Miss Moran nodded and gestured slightly with her chin toward the bookshelves behind her:
"The cover colors of the books on the bookshelf reflect their corresponding elemental colors. Go find them yourself, but as always, you can only read two books a day and can't take any more."
Lucius smiled and nodded to Miss Moran: "Thank you for your guidance, Miss Moran."
Then he turned and walked toward the bookshelf.

Lucius walked out of Moran Bookstore satisfied, holding the gift box in his hand. Since Miss Moran said it would be best to open it after dinner, he headed towards the meat and vegetable market.
At 7 p.m., Lucius took the fried pork cutlet out of the oil and placed it on absorbent paper. The breadcrumbs on the cutlet had a golden, crispy sheen. He drizzled a spoonful of melted butter and some black pepper over the mashed potatoes.
He sat down at the table, finished the whole plate of fried pork chop and mashed potatoes, and then reached for the gift box.
Lifting the lid reveals a chocolate lava cake lying in a dark blue paper cup.
"As expected, this is very much like Miss Moran."
Lucius muttered a complaint, then scooped up a small spoonful and put it in his mouth.
The next second, a feeling similar to a beautiful dream unfolded on the tip of my tongue.
He subconsciously activated his perception mask to look inward, and saw that the radiance of the lamp within his body was slowly increasing at an extremely small rate.
The clues from the occult diary appeared at the opportune moment:
On July 2, 1855, I tasted food made from sweet pea seeds.

"This contains occult materials!" Lucius exclaimed in surprise as he looked at the remaining chocolate lava cake.
No wonder Miss Moran said she couldn't eat anything anymore.
Ordinary food provides satisfaction in terms of taste, while sweet dream seeds provide sensory saturation at the level of sexuality.
He looked at the remaining cake, took another bite, and found the flavor still rich and smooth, but the light showed no new reaction, and the diary was the same.
"It seems that only the first taste can trigger the 'food' criterion," Lucius concluded after finishing the cake.
