Chapter 30 Zhou Qing the Glutton
Chapter 30 Zhou Qing the Glutton
"A demon wolf?"
Zhou Qing glanced at it and weighed the pros and cons in his mind.
If this thing knew magic, it would indeed be difficult to deal with, but judging from its appearance, it's most likely a pure physical attacker.
He wasn't flustered at all when dealing with these small fry; instead, his eyes lit up.
This is enough ingredients for twenty-nine lunches!
Thinking this, Zhou Qing pushed off with his feet and charged straight at the front of the demonic wolves, swinging the enchanted wooden staff with great force.
Almost the instant he moved, the four demonic wolves launched their attack, simultaneously pouncing from the front, left, and right, their claws gleaming coldly, and emitting fierce growls.
Zhou Qing's eyes narrowed, and with a swift twist of his wrist, the wooden stick struck the charging wolf with pinpoint accuracy: "Well done!"
"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"
Four muffled thuds rang out in quick succession, almost in a single, rapid sequence.
In the blink of an eye, the four dark figures were sent flying like sandbags, crashing heavily to the ground.
Two of the wolves were smashed in half at the waist by wooden sticks, their flesh mangled and lifeless.
The other two, though not hit in vital areas, had their heads tilted to one side, their limbs twitched a couple of times, and then went completely still, presumably dead.
"So weak!"
Zhou Qing twirled the stick, feeling much more relaxed.
This wolf is way too fragile!
Fighting them is even less challenging than fighting a horned rabbit!
The horned rabbit was so fast that it caused him to make several mistakes.
But this demonic wolf was just there to be eaten.
They're all the kind of people who can be dealt with with a single blow.
Zhou Qing didn't stop, continuing to charge towards the remaining demonic wolves.
Just then, a faint black arc of light spread out from Daisy's side, silently passing through Zhou Qing and sweeping across the entire pack of demon wolves.
Zhou Qing didn't feel any discomfort, but he noticed that the demonic wolves that had been pouncing fiercely were noticeably sluggish, their eyes were unfocused, and even their howls were weaker.
Weakening magic?
Zhou Qing's heart skipped a beat, and he turned to look at Daisy.
Daisy stood there, intently chanting a new incantation. The red gem at the top of her skull staff shone brighter and brighter, radiating a chilling aura.
Meanwhile, the undead servant who had been near Zhou Qing and hadn't made a move yet also staggered into the pack of demon wolves.
It's somewhat useful.
Zhou Qing nodded in satisfaction, withdrew his gaze, and rushed into the pack of demon wolves.
With the weakening spell applied, the dire wolf became even more vulnerable.
With a single blow, he could smash the wolf's head open; it was practically a one-sided massacre.
He alone surrounded the entire pack of demon wolves.
About two minutes later, nearly a dozen demon wolves had already appeared.
Just then, the red light at the tip of Daisy's staff suddenly surged, and a jet-black beam of light shot out, piercing through the three demonic wolves that were being held back by the corpse servants.
The wolf that was hit didn't even have time to scream before it turned into puddles of foul-smelling corpse water.
"Ouch! What are you doing!"
"Stop it right now! Don't attack my food!"
Zhou Qinggang casually knocked a demonic wolf to death beside him and immediately shouted to stop.
"Just cast weakening spells on them; leave the monster-killing to the professionals!"
Daisy paused in her singing, a look of conflict crossing her face.
But after glancing at the corpses of the demonic wolves that Zhou Qing had killed, and recalling Zhou Qing's ferocious rampage through the wolf pack, he obediently stopped chanting and nodded: "Okay... alright."
With Zhou Qing's strength, there's really no need for her to kill monsters.
Then there's no need to waste your magic.
Moreover, the captain seems particularly obsessed with food, so it's best not to upset him.
……
The second level of the dungeon, inside the Adventurers' Guild headquarters.
As Zhou Qing and Daisy stepped into the stronghold, the once lively hall fell silent for half a second.
Immediately afterwards, curious gazes focused on the two of them.
"That's... Zhou Qing, the glutton!"
"That's right, it's that ruthless guy who ate ten giant frogs, forty giant walking mushrooms, and one hundred horned rabbits all by himself!"
"By the goddess above, it really is him!"
"His body looks robust, but how can it hold so much food? Is his stomach connected to an abyss?"
"What do you know! This is the power of the pig-headed man's bloodline!"
"Bullshit! I know a pork butcher, and even the biggest eater can't eat as much as him!"
Hearing the whispers around him, Zhou Qing's face darkened instantly, and the veins on his forehead throbbed.
How could it be so exaggerated? I only ate one giant frog, one baboon, four walking mushrooms, and a dozen or so horned rabbits!
How did the number of times it increased more than tenfold as it was spread?
Who is tarnishing my reputation behind my back?
Just as Zhou Qing was about to find someone to argue with, the surrounding chatter suddenly changed direction.
"Wait, who is that man in black robes next to him?"
"Isn't that dirty Daisy? That necromancer with necrophilia!"
"How did she end up with Zhou Qing, the glutton?"
"Don't talk nonsense! Be careful she doesn't hear you! I heard she holds grudges the most. If you anger her, she'll dig up your ancestral graves overnight and exhume your ancestors' corpses to make them into corpse servants!"
Upon hearing this, the adventurers who had been huddled together discussing the matter fell silent instantly, their faces turning pale as they all retreated in unison.
Before long, most of the adventurers picked up their belongings and fled the stronghold without looking back.
Looking at the empty hall, Zhou Qing was too lazy to argue with these cowards. He walked straight to the open space in the center of the stronghold, raised his hand, and started pulling things out of the dark space.
One plant-boar fruit, twenty-six demon wolf corpses, and a few walking mushrooms and other small monsters that he casually killed when he passed through the first level of the dungeon.
They were piled up to one side like a small mountain.
"Hello, adventurer, I'm Gina, the receptionist here. How can I help you?" a clear female voice rang out.
Zhou Qing looked up and saw Gina walking over.
Although she had already recognized Zhou Qing, she still wore a standard professional smile, her attitude respectful and professional.
"Put these away." Zhou Qing pointed to the spoils on the ground. "Just like last time, cook everything edible and recycle the inedible materials. If there are any quests you can complete, settle the accounts for them for me while you're at it."
"Okay, adventurer, please wait a moment." Gina nodded, took out paper and pen and began to register quickly.
Halfway through the registration, she looked up and said, "Adventurer, we have a quest to clear out the demon wolves, and we require fifty wolf pelts as proof."
"You now have twenty-six cards, and you need twenty-four more. Would you like me to accept this task for you first, and then continue completing it?"
"Is there a time limit?" Zhou Qing asked casually.
"You can complete it within one month of receiving it," Gina replied.
"Okay, collect it for me." Zhou Qing waved his hand dismissively. "Hurry up and cook the food."
Gina responded and then asked, "Also, I noticed you've already set up an adventurer's party. For this quest to clear out the dire wolves, would you like it registered under your personal name or your party's?"
