Chapter 1223 - 1223: The Struggle of the Forgotten Ones
Chapter 1223 - 1223: The Struggle of the Forgotten Ones
On the next day, at the twin portals that connected Earth to Ancient Blue Gate World, a group of people came out from the portal from Earth. The group looked like ordinary tourists, full of middle-aged men and women wearing black glasses. They were inconspicuous amongst many other beings that also came out from the same portal.
They were wearing casual but appropriate attire with long pants and shirts. The one leading the group exuded the aura of an A-rank hunter. He was a middle-aged man with blonde hair and a moustache.
The moment they stepped onto Ancient Blue Gate World, they showed expressions just like anyone who stepped into Ancient Blue Gate World for the first time.
They were truly astonished and amazed. Although they felt a heavy pressure, a refreshing sensation washed over them. The dense heaven and earth energy that they had never felt before touched their skin, making them want to raise their ranks quickly in this place.
They observed their surroundings, which at this moment looked like a massive plaza. Aldrian had ordered the portal station area to be expanded because too many beings kept arriving, making the space near the portals instantly crowded.
Now, there were no trees separating the portals from the scenery of the city gate.
"Uhm, brother Li, where are we going now?" a middle-aged bald man beside the leader asked.
"Shhh, don't call me that yet! We are still not safe, and I can still see some people that could recognize our real faces," the leader called Li said with an irritated tone.
The bald man immediately lowered his head.
"I'm sorry, brother Li. I mean brother Lu."
"Argh, fuck. I swear I will be killed by you, idiot," the leader said in frustration. He looked like he truly wanted to punch the bald man to make him smarter.
The others only stayed silent as they continued looking at their surroundings. They were already used to how the bald man and the leader interacted with each other.
After taking a long, difficult, and tiring journey, with them having to use disguises and create new identities, they finally reached this place.
They were Li Zhanfeng's group that had previously decided to stay near the Gobi Desert and wait for Aldrian to remain in one place.
When the large-scale operation against Red Moon Guild happened, they were shocked and immediately decided to hide.
They did not know that their guild actually had connections to the malignant, and they realized the significance if someone discovered their identities as members of Red Moon Guild.
After laying low for some time, they decided to plan their move to a much better place to live. They could not keep living like this as former members of Red Moon Guild. They would definitely be ostracized by society.
After discussing it together, they finally decided to go to the best place they could think of, and that was the inner realm.
However, to reach the inner realm, they knew they had to use many tricks to evade the people that could recognize them.
Although the Hunter Association had already announced that there would be no witch hunt against the former members of Red Moon Guild, they would still receive condemning gazes from anyone that knew them.
There was also no telling if there were people with extreme personalities that would decide to take matters into their own hands and endanger their lives.
If they were in danger, then no one would help them.
They had to take advantage of their connections and knowledge to make sure they could pass through the portals without anyone realizing that they were former members of Red Moon Guild.
They used special skin masks from the black market and falsified their identities using various means. They even had to change their transportation several times, which made the journey take a much longer time. They also could not use planes or trains, as they would instantly be found out.
And after a month, they finally reached the inner realm.
"Let's go to that city. From the information we got, that city is called Reivorgas. We could start by learning little by little about this place and how to live here," Li Zhanfeng said as he looked towards the city gate in the distance.
After they walked for a few moments, the bald man asked,
"Brother Li, what about apologizing to that man? Do we still need to do that?"
That question caused everyone in their group to stop walking as they looked towards each other. Even Li Zhanfeng was not sure.
During their journey here, they had already heard information about Aldrian's real status in the inner realm, and at that moment, their hearts turned cold.
To think that they had offended an emperor and his wives while they were enjoying their time in the restaurant.
Thinking that they were still alive today was already a miracle by itself.
They did not know if they should go to him to apologize because he was someone far too high for them to meet. He heard that the people from Earth had never seen him again since the creation of the twin portals.
The number of people wanting to meet him in his palace was also countless, with many of them being nobles from the inner realm.
Li Zhanfeng suddenly released a sigh.
"Forget it, I think that man already forgot about us. Heck, I think he never cared about us in the first place and only considered us as ants. The fact that we are still alive until now is already proof of that. Let's just move on and live the best for our future."
The others nodded, and they continued walking towards the city.
Not long after they continued their walk towards the city, two figures emerged from the arrival portal from Earth. They were two beautiful women. One had short brown hair, while the other had long black hair.
They were wearing casual dresses, and they were people Aldrian would recognize if he saw them at this moment.
They were the captain of the municipal police of Shanghai, Su Wenxin, and her sister, General Ruan.
"Woah, so this is the inner realm?" Su Wenxin's voice was full of amazement, and the shock on her face could not be hidden.
"This is truly amazing. It looks like coming here was the right choice for our day off. Aish, after a tiring month of taking care of the aftermath of the fall of Red Moon Guild, we can finally enjoy some relaxing time."
"And that floating palace, is that where mister Aldrian stays?" Su Wenxin looked at the floating land with a glimmering gaze.
General Ruan nodded.
"Yes, from the information we received, that palace is where mister Aldrian stays," but then she shook her head with a bitter smile.
"But I think we will never meet him again considering his status. I even heard that he is considered the strongest being in the inner realm, and many nobles across the inner realm want to meet him."
"True," Su Wenxin replied after releasing a sigh.
"Anyway, let's take a look at that city. I heard there are many interesting things there," she said, and both of them started walking towards the city.
---------------------------------
In Aldrian's palace, Aldrian walked towards one of the guest rooms where he had left Randolf since yesterday. After devouring Angelica all night in the night sky garden, she fell asleep as she was completely exhausted after receiving all of his burning passion.
He moved her to her bedroom and let her rest while he continued his activities.
While going through his usual daily activities, he finally thought that it was time for Randolf to give his answer.
After reaching the guest room, he instantly opened the door and could see Randolf still sitting on the same sofa as when he left yesterday. However, he looked haggard, with his head leaning against the sofa while staring at the ceiling with a deadpan expression.
He seemed lost and looked like a withered plant. His face was pale, and the atmosphere of confidence around him had completely disappeared.
Sensing his arrival, Randolf glanced at him without expression.
Aldrian continued approaching him before sitting across from him. Without waiting any longer, Aldrian spoke.
"I suppose that I already gave you enough time to think about your decision thoroughly." Aldrian's expression and tone remained calm.
"What is your decision, young master Randolf?"
There was only silence, but Aldrian did not rush him. Time continued to pass until Randolf finally opened his lips.
"You said that I had to leave my god, but how am I supposed to leave him when I am already entirely bound to him? Even if he abandoned me, I am still bound to him by a strong karma that would be difficult to sever," his voice was hoarse and weak.
"Even at this moment, I can still open the system screen, which means that his influence still remains inside me. If I leave him completely, doesn't that mean I have to sever the karma forcefully? How could I sever something that the god himself created? You should know about this as an apostle yourself."
Aldrian nodded. What Randolf said made sense and was the truth.
The system was closely related to the god, and from his understanding, the first heaven's power was not enough to completely block Randolf's system connection to Avergis. Though, it could still block the system's entire functions.
"You are right, but for now, what I want is your answer. We can think about how to get rid of Avergis' influence later," Aldrian said.
Randolf's gaze remained on Aldrian's face for a moment before he took a deep breath and slowly released it.
"Alright, I will leave god Avergis."
